🖤 This is a BABY AARDWOLF — In Case You’ve Never Seen One 🌾
Small, fluffy, and covered in bold black stripes, the baby aardwolf looks like a miniature hyena — and that’s no coincidence.
It’s actually part of the hyena family, but instead of hunting or scavenging, it lives almost entirely on termites.
Found in the open plains of eastern and southern Africa, aardwolves use their large ears to detect termite activity under the ground.
With a long, sticky tongue, they can lap up more than 200,000 termites in a single night — without destroying the mound, so they can return later for more.
✨ Fun fact: Unlike other hyenas, the aardwolf has small, weak jaws because it doesn’t need to crush bones — just catch tiny insects.
